Guitar Pickups

In order for an electric guitar to be heard through an amplifier, it must be fitted with at least one guitar pickup. Guitar pickups are essentially an electro magnet that capures the vibrations made by a guitar string and turns them into an electrical signal. This signal is then amplified and can be heard through a speaker.

There are various different types of guitar pickup - Single coil, humbucking, P-90, which all have different sounds and characteristics useful for differing playing styles and musical genres.

At GigGear, we stock a wide range of the most popular models from such leading brands as Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, Gibson, Fishman and more. We also offer a pickup fitting service through our on-site workshop.
