Take it Away - Interest Free Finance at GigGear


Now you can apply for a loan of up to £5000 completely interest FREE!* with the Take it Away scheme from Arts Council England.

Take it away is an Arts Council initiative designed to help more people get involved in learning and playing music.

 

 

Loans are available over 9 months (for goods valuing £100 - £2,000) or 18 months (for goods valuing £800 - £5,000) with a minimum 10% deposit payable on the day.

You can apply if you are:

  • Either aged between 18 and 25 years old

  • Or if you are over 18 and applying for a person who is under 18 years old (instore only)

  • A Permanent UK resident

  • Working at least 16 hours per week

 

What can I buy with the Take it Away Scheme?

The scheme will allow customers to apply for a loan from £100 to £2,000 for musical instruments such as guitars, drums, violins, wind instruments, pianos and keyboards etc.

Although you cannot buy amplifiers or PA systems and the like on their own with Take it Away, you can include equipment and services such as amplifiers, music stands, sheet music and tuition as part of your loan as long as it includes a playable instrument.

How do I apply?

You can appy in person or online.

Instore

  1. Come into our store and choose your instrument and accessories
  2. We ask you a few qustions about yourself and enter the details into our system for authorisation
  3. if successful, we complete the agreement and take the deposit
  4. You take you new instrument home!

Online

  1. Browse our website and add the item(s) you want to the basket making sure a playable instrument is included.  Our shopping basket and product pages tell you what credit deals are available.
  2. Enter the checkout process as normal and select Take it Away as your credit option.
  3. Simply complete the online form and receive a totally automated answer and usually an instant decision.  If accepted, you can pay your deposit and even sign your agreement online!

What do I need to bring into the store to apply?

  1. A credit or debit card in the name of the person applying for the loan to pay your deposit with
  2. Your bank account details to set up the direct debit

Can I use take it away to buy something that costs more than £2000?

Yes! You can use Take it Away as a part payment and top up the difference using an alternate payment method.

What deposit do I need to pay?

You need to pay a minimum of a 10% deposit with a credit or debit card registered in you name. You can pay a larger deposit if you wish as long as the amount you borrow is between £100 and £2000.

Typical Example

  • Choose an instrument worth £300
  • Pay a £30 deposit and take the instrument home with you
  • Pay a further 9 payments of £30 via direct debit
  • Total amount payable £300
