MapexMapex Black Panther 'The Black Widow' - 14"x5" Maple Snare

(Our Code: BPML4500LNTB)

The Mapex Black Panther Black Widow is a full-bodied, versatile snare drum featuring extreme sensitivity and a dark, dry tone.

The Mapex Black Widow is a 14x5 snare drum with a thin 5.1mm maple shell finished in a gloss Black Lacquer and a slightly rounded 45 degree bearing edge. This thin shell and slightly shallower than standard depth combines a wonderful snappy response, with a warmth which you only hear from a quality wood shell. This snare drum is a truly versatile instrument which will excel in styles where articulation and sensitivity are important.

Mapex have improved the hoops on the Black Panther range with their "sonic saver" hoop design. This bridges the gap between flanged and die-cast hoops with their rounded shape reducing wear on sticks whilst retaining the ability to produce an easy and clear rimshot.

A new throwoff is easy and smooth to operate and the adjustment dial has micro-lock technology which allows to adjust tension silently with a tactile "click" proving feedback so you can make highly-accurate adjustments.
