Electro Harmonix Pitch Fork - Polyphonic Pitch Shifter Pedal
The Electro Harmonix Pitch Fork Polyphonic Pitch Shifter is a superb guitar effects pedal that is able to produce an array of pitch shifting options across 3 octaves. With its selection of awards (Guitarists Choice, Guitar Player Editor's Pick, Guitar World Gold Award amongst some) under its belt, you know you are onto a winner with little pedal!
The controls on the Pitch Fork are relatively straightforward and intuitive, but don't let that fool, the is one powerful pedal. The Blend control allows you to set the mix of your guitar tone with the Pitch Forks own effect whilst the other knob, Shift, is where the pitch shifting magic happens.
Across the 11-position Shift control you have a range of pre-defined pitch-shifting options: D (Detune), a shift of 17 cents, through Minor 2nd, Major 2nd, Major 3rd, Perfect 4th, Perfect 5th, Major 6th, Minor 7th, 1 Octave, 2 Octaves and 3 Octave. The 3 way toggle switch gives you the option of having pitch shifted above your guitar's pitch, below or both - Dual mode. Dual mode will output two pitch shifted signals, they include M3 up + P5 up, P5 up + 1 Oct down, 1 Oct up + 1 Oct down.
The Pitch fork also has a button that allows the footswitch to be used either as a Latch or Momentary footswitch. In Latch mode you can simply turn the effect on and off, or in Momentary simply hold your foot on the switch for the effect to be engaged. Added control can be had with an external expression controller plugged into the Pitch Forks dedicated EXP input.
