Fender American Original 60s Jazz Bass
The Jazz bass is a true musical icon. Known for it's warm versatile tones and comfortable frame the Fender Jazz Bass started off life in the early sixties as the 'replacement' for the P bass but ended up developing it's own strengths and quickly gained a cult following in the bass guitar world. This Fender American Original 60s Jazz Bass takes the form of the original sixties J bass in all it's glory - but with the bonus of modern playability!
Just like those vintage gems, J bass tonewood of choice is Alder which is chosen because of its lightweight, closed-pore make up and natural resonant, balanced tone. This body is then crafted into the ergonomic Jazz Bass to the same identical original-era proportions before being coated in a beautiful gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish that will wear in and age gracefully over time.
Also like the originals that captured the imagination of musicians all over the world back in sixties, this American Original model features that typical narrow J bass neck. This addition gave the Jazz bass an all new advantage as this allowed players to push themselves further with quicker, more dexterous bass lines and agile playing styles. This bass adopts this same Maple neck but instead with the more modern and comfortable 9.5" radius.
A set of 64 Jazz Bass single-coil pickups have been selected in order to give players that bold, warm and flexible tonal range. These punchy pickups are full of life and character thanks to their traditional construction featuring enamel-coated coil wire, cloth covered output wires, fiber bobbins and alnico 5 magnets.
Tuning integrity and a good body to string relationship are a vital part of any bass guitar performance. This Jazz bass pays tribute to the 60s fender formula with high quality hardware that includes vintage tall frets, a four-saddle vintage style bridg, a bone nut and a set of pure vintage reverse open-gear machine heads.
