The Gibson Les Paul Standard ‘60s pays tribute to Gibson’s golden era, delivering a guitar with a careful selection of period correct appointments, that classic 60s Les Paul feel and bags of authentic tone.
At its heart is the classic Les Paul tonewood partnership - a solid mahogany body topped with an eye catching carved AA maple top, finished with a Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer. This combination allows for the guitar to deliver a rich full tone, with bags of sustain and plenty of resonance, the essence of a classic Les Paul sound.
The body is married to a solid mahogany neck, which has been shaped into the SlimTaper 60s profile and is topped with a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard. The 24.75" scale, trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets and 1.695" (43.05mm) nut width complete the traditional 60’s era feel and look.
The Les Paul Standard ‘60s model comes fitted with a pair of humbuckers in the form of the Burstbucker 61R in the neck position and a Burstbucker 61T in the bridge position - both are loaded with ALNiCo V magnets. The pickups are wired through the traditional 3-way pickup selector, 4 knob configuration (2 x volume and 2 x tone), with audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors. Combined, this classic electronic setup gives you access to those 60s era Les Paul tones (slightly hotter than the 50s Les Paul Standard) with plenty of warmth, clarity and sustain, excelling whether played clean, in a bluesy crunch setup or when pushed heavier into rock territory.
Other appointments include the classic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic "Kidney" tuners and aged gold top hat knobs with silver reflectors.

Great guitar. This unburst finish sets of the top well as this has a particularly nice consistent flame/tiger stripe all over both sides of the book match. The neck is very comfortable to play. The pickups have a bit more growl than the burstbuckers on the 50s but still well balanced. Seem already wax potted so I can use some gain right away without having to take them out to be wax potted. Seems a good reproduction of that era of les Paul. I have a 50s as well and both are fine in their own way. Cant fault GigGears service and the person I spoke to via phone after the order just as a follow up call was helpful. I think the only slight hicup was regarding although the courier alerted me delivery was between 3 and 4 the delivery was actually about 12.30 and I just bumped into him as I was going out for an hour so lucky I was in before the alloted time. But not a problem as it turned out. Well pleased with the guitar, perfect and Giggears service. The only mod to this guitar is putting a treble bleed in, a .001uf cap on the vol pots in out lugs to keep it bright when turning down. I put those in all my electric guitars if they dont already have that.
Service and delivery as good as it gets. A truly exceptional guitar. Neck ideal for my small hands. Recommend 100%.
