The Gould GE30 takes the familiar single-cut silhouette and adapts it for modern playability. While it captures the traditional look, this guitar is designed specifically to address some of the common issues new players face—specifically weight and neck feel.
The Okoume body offers a similar tonal warmth to mahogany but is significantly lighter. This makes a noticeable difference when you are practising for an hour or two; it sits comfortably on a strap and is easy to handle sitting down.
A feature rarely seen at this price point is the set-in neck. Rather than being bolted on, the Okoume neck is glued into the body. This construction method is traditional for this style of guitar and helps transfer vibration better between the neck and body for a warmer tone. The fingerboard is made from Laurel, which is durable and smooth under the fingers.
The GE30 is fitted with double humbucker pickups. These are naturally quieter (less background hum) than single coils and provide a thicker, fuller sound. They handle distortion well for rock and blues but clean up nicely for rhythm playing.
You get full control over your tone with the classic four-knob layout, featuring independent volume and tone controls for each pickup.
