Since its introduction in 1961, the Epiphone Casino has become a true classic. Having been played by some of musics greatest artists on various landmark recordings, it is an iconic instrument that is still going strong today.
Similar, from a distance, to Gibsons ES-335, the Casino was an all-new design for Epiphone back in 61. Featuring an all-hollow, thinline body constructed using laminated Maple, it delivers a clear, yet full, tone, capable of being overdriven when necessary. This is helped by the addition of a pair of vintage P-90 Classic pickups offering the cut of a single coil but with the power of a humbucker.
The slim-taper neck, as with many Epiphones, is built from Mahogany and is topped off with a pau ferro fretboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and parallelogram inlays.
Tuning is kept stable with the inclusion of vintage style, small button tuners and a Locktone Tune O-Matic bridge with a traditional trapeze tailpiece.
Having been used extensively by 3 of the 4 Beatles throughout their career, by artists such as Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher, and on such historically important recordings as The Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Beach Boys Pet Sounds, the Casino is still every bit as relevant as it always has been, and is now available at a price that is more affordable than ever before.
