Gibson SG Standard '61 - Vintage Cherry
The Gibson SG Standard ‘61 is a classic take on the legendary guitar. Featuring a host of period correct appointments, those iconic double cutaway looks and a sound to match, the SG Standard ‘61 is an SG guitar suitable for any generation!
True to its roots, the SG Standard 61 utilizes a solid mahogany body with deeply sculpted body scarfing and is finished in Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer. Its Vintage Cherry colour is as classic as you can get, and is the perfect choice for any SG fan.
The double cutaway body is married to a solid mahogany neck that has been carved into a highly playable SlimTaper profile. The neck is then topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius and hosts 22 medium jumbo frets and Trapezoid inlays. The 24.75" scale, 1.695" (43.05mm) nut width, and vintage deluxe tuner with keystone buttons complete the traditional feel and look.
A pair of humbuckers in the form of the Burstbucker 61R in the neck position and a Burstbucker 61T in the bridge position feature, with both loaded with ALNiCo V magnets. The pickups are wired through the traditional 3-way pickup selector, 4 knob configuration (2 x volume and 2 x tone), with audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors. Combined, this classic electronic setup gives you access to those classic SG tones with added power and top end bite.
Other appointments include the classic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, and black top hat knobs with silver reflectors.
