Jim Dunlop Crybaby EVH95 Eddie Van Halen Signature Wah
The Jim Dunlop Crybaby EVH95 Eddie Van Halen Signature Wah is is a collaboration between EVH and Jim Dunlop Manufacturing. This EVH95 has been based on EVH's own "Holy Grail" wah pedal from the worn-in pot and hand-selected inductor, down to the extra wide frequency sweep.
In the early stages of this pedals design Eddie simply handed over his personal Crybaby that he customized back in the 90s aka the 'Holy Grail' wah. These modifications gave this wah a more vocal like tone with a high Q inductor as well as a wider frequency sweep.
After carefully digging round to find out what made this his pedal tick, Dunlop found that due to Eddies unique wah style he had actually carved his own curve into the pot's resistive element. This is the reason for its more defined midrange and expanded low end sweep. Jim Dunlop quickly got to work developing a perfect clone of this worn-in pot before pairing it with a hand chosen inductor which accurately captures that very same 'Holy Grail' sound and feel.
Alongside the 'Holy Grail' internal circuit modifications they EVH Wah also brings modern upgrades such as true hardwire bypass, dual bright blue bypass LEDs and of course, black and yellow-striped graphics based on the Van Halen II guitar.
