Personalised multi-point setup included

Before dispatch, your instrument will be treated to a full setup. That's not a quick tweak, but a full multi-point setup by an experienced guitar technician who will check and adjust every single thing on your guitar, bass, ukulele or banjo to ensure it is performing at its absolute best.

This is not a quick process but we believe every instrument should go through our process to acheive an exacting standard of playability.

Frets

We start with the frets on your instrument. All guitar necks move and change over time so we will make sure that your frets are nice and flat as we go up the neck. We don't want any high or low spots as this will mean your guitar will need a higher than optimum action and potentially suffer with fret buzz.

We check and properly profile the playing surface of the frets and then make sure the fret ends are finished off properly. The fret is then polished to ensure smooth string bending.

Truss Rod

Then it's on to the truss rod. This metal rod differs from guitar to guitar (some guitars such as classical guitars don't usually have a truss rod!) and basically controls the "relief" or curve of the neck. Not enough relief and your strings won't have enough clearance over the other frets when playing. Too much relief and you'll have a high action which gets worse as you go up the neck.

The heavier the strings then the more the truss rod needs to work. Proper adjustment in the workshop means that the action will be just right for the strings fitted to your guitar.

Top Nut

The top nut is super important and is one of the two open contact points of your guitar. The technician will check and cut each slot to make sure the strings both run freely but are not sitting in a slot that's too big.

The top nut also plays a big part in the action of your guitar so we'll hit that sweet spot between too low and too high.

Saddle(s)

Another really important part of your guitar!

On an acoustic, the saddle is cut to the correct height making sure the bottom is 100% flat and straight. This means the string can transfer its vibration properly into the body of your guitar.

For electric guitars, the saddles are adjusted to ensure your intonation is perfect. We will also match the saddles to the radius of your fretboard.

Bridge / Tremolo

The bridge affects the break angle and string height of your guitar and is also responsible for holding your saddles.

For a guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo system or similar, the spring tension has to be just right to allow the tremolo to return to its "zero point" and keep everything in tune.

For guitars with standard tremolos, we can set it to float and be used both up or down like a true tremolo or we can lock the trem block back so the tremolo will only go downwards.... the choice is yours!

Intonation

Intonation is the measure of how in-tune the guitar string is across the length of the fretboard and a guitar with badly set intonation will get more and more out of tune as the string is shortened when you play.

Tiny adjustments are made to each string where applicable to adjust its length and ensure that the intonation is set just right.

Overall Action

Once all the above has been completed, the guitar is checked for playability and fine adjustments are made. This step brings everything together and means your guitar will be set up optimally.

Machine Heads

Every machine head is operated and checked for function. We need to ensure that the machine heads operate smoothly.

Electrics

All the functions of your guitar are checked to ensure everything is working as intended.

For acoustic guitars we will check the functions of the EQ system and controls as weel as check the internal cabling and jack socket.

For electric guitars, all the pickups are checked for function and tonal response. All controls and switches are operated to ensure they are functioning properly. The jack socket is checked.

Other Parts

All other parts such as strap pins, bushings, tuning buttons etc are fully checked.

Dispatch

All our instruments get the same premium treatment wether you purchase online or instore.

If you have purchased online, your guitar will be carefully packed ready for dispatch. You will receive a tracking link via email.

Happy playing :)

Description

The Line 6 XD-V55L Digital Wireless Lavalier System takes wireless systems to the next level with superb performance across 12 channels, eq filter modeling, 300ft range and is 100% license free.

Onboard EQ Filter Modeling Technology for Bodypack Systems
For vocalists, musicians, performers and active spoken word presenters who require hands-free operation, XD-V55 bodypack systems offer three EQ filter models that enable fast access to professionally tailored sounds. Mic placement is no longer a variable – on collar, chest or cheek, or even plugging an instrument into the transmitter – the custom EQ filter models will help to optimize the system performance to the situation.

Full-frequency, Uncompressed, 24-bit Audio
Every performer knows that when you sound your best, you perform with confidence. The unique versatility and reliability of XD-V55 systems ensure a great performance every time you hit the stage.

Featuring 24-bit precision for a full frequency response of 10Hz to 20kHz and a wide dynamic range of up to >117dB (A weighted), XD-V55 digital wireless signals are so clear and strong that they sound and perform as if you’re using a wired microphone.

Unlike analog wireless systems, XD-V55 digital wireless systems never use signal companding to compress and expand the signal, so you always have full dynamic range. XD-V wireless systems allow you to convey every nuance of your performance to the audience in the most natural way, with crystal clarity. In addition to preventing unintentional handling noise, the adjustable dynamic filter reduces unwanted ambient noise, while preserving your natural vocal articulation.

Advanced Audio Protection
Line 6 digital wireless systems use exclusive digital technologies to protect their signals from interference that can wreak havoc on analog wireless systems. Encoded DCL™ (Digital Channel Lock) technology distinguishes XD-V55 digital audio from any other third-party signal, including Wi-Fi. This prevents audio interference from other 2.4GHz devices and ensures the highest signal integrity.

2.4GHz Broadcast — License-free, Worldwide
You may have noticed that some wireless microphones come with FCC warning labels. Line 6 digital wireless systems, including XD-V55, don’t need "FCC Consumer Alert" stickers because they're fully FCC compliant. XD-V digital wireless operates in the 2.4GHz ISM band, which avoids interference from TV broadcasts, white space devices, cell phone towers and other transmitting devices. XD-V55 systems ensure peace of mind and the most reliable operation worldwide, from Hollywood to Tokyo.

Worried about interference caused by Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® devices that operate in the 2.4GHz ISM band? XD-V55 digital wireless systems use uniquely addressed and encoded digital transmission technology, so your signal will travel from transmitter to receiver free of interference.

4th-generation Digital Wireless Technology
Since its debut, Line 6 digital wireless technology has racked up awards and proven that analog wireless technology is no longer the only option. Now in its fourth generation, Line 6 digital wireless technology is the most mature in the market and continues to set standards in simplicity and performance.

One-step Setup
Like all Line 6 digital wireless systems, XD-V55 systems are incredibly easy to set up. Simply pick any of the six always-available channels and the transmitter and receiver lock together – job done.

Consistent Signal Integrity up to 300 Feet
At ten feet away or at the full extent its range, XD-V digital wireless systems deliver the same, consistent, dependable signal quality. Unlike analog wireless systems, there’s no increased risk of interference or degradation in signal as you move further from the receiver. You can perform with full confidence, right up to the range limits of your XD-V system.

Mix, Match and Use up to 12 Simultaneous Systems
Ideal for solo performers through full bands with multiple vocalists, XD-V55 systems allow for up to twelve XD-V55 systems to be used simultaneously. Simply set each system to a different channel and you’re ready to go, free of cross-channel interference between performers.

Designed for applications where you need to interchange different types of mics, the XDV-55 family supports handhelds, lavaliers, headsets and instruments within the same digital wireless system. Because both models in the XD-V55 family have the same digital wireless receiver, mixing and matching is now a one-step setup process.

Battery and Signal Status
XD-V55 systems feature clearly display essential system information - including battery and signal status - on the transmitter and receiver units. The bodypack transmitter lets you select your channel and mic or EQ filter model, and give you an instant check on battery level. The receiver features a bright, five-segment LED for constant signal and battery status.
