The Taylor 414CE, one of Taylorís most popular guitars, offers a great combination of quality tone-woods, body shape and electrics that make it an incredibly versatile and playable instrument.
Featuring their bestselling Grand Auditorium body shape, the Taylor 414CE delivers a balanced tone offering something for all playing styles.
The woods used in the Taylor 414CE allow it to be such a versatile guitar. The back and sides are constructed from Ovankol Ė an African relative of Rosewood that shares many of its tonal qualities. Delivering a tight punchy bass, a full midrange and crisp trebles, Ovankol is a perfect pairing with the Sitka Spruce of the 414CEís top.
The Taylor 414CEís neck is made from Tropical Mahogany and is capped with an Ebony fretboard containing 20 medium frets. The headstock features an Indian Rosewood cap and is fitted with chrome tuners and inlaid with the Taylor logo.
The 414ce now features Taylor's new Expression System 2 electronics system. At the heart of the system is Taylor's behind the saddle pickup, which features three uniquely placed pickup sensors that in conjunction Taylor's custom designed professional audio grade preamp conveys the voice of the acoustic guitar whilst capturing more of the guitar's dynamic properties. Controls couldn't be simpler - volume, bass and treble.
