The TAMA HP310L Speed Cobra 310 Single Drum Pedal is developed using the same design principles as the Speed Cobra 910 series to offer remarkable performance.
A central feature of this design is the extended footboard. By making the footboard longer than that of the Iron Cobra, the pedal rapidly accelerates the power and speed of the beater stroke with less physical effort. This specially designed board also features a smoother playing surface which reduces friction, allowing for more precise control and flexibility.
To support continuous fast playing, the HP310L utilises a recessed setting. This position achieves a balance between the natural motion of a chain drive and a lighter action that reduces stress and muscle fatigue.
The footboard placement is set to ensure that about 20% less exertion is required to produce the same power and feel found in existing models. This is further enhanced by a modified bearing framework which produces less stress on the FASTBALL bearing.
For personal customisation, the HP310L comes standard with an angle adjustment system linked to the footboard angle, allowing you to set the beater position to your preference.
Additionally, the spring tension adjustment includes a specially shaped nut inspired by the Spring Tight feature of the 900 series, which prevents the spring unit from loosening during use.
The mechanical drive system includes several high-quality components, including the following:
- True round-shaped 'LiteSprocket' which decreases weight by 40% compared to the Iron Cobra sprocket, providing a natural feel
- Same durable double chain drive found on the Speed Cobra 910 series
- A newly designed hinge with a tough, cylindrical brass sleeve to protect it from damage or
