The Peavey MAX 150 Bass Guitar Combo is a portable amplification system designed to provide consistent tone and reliability for bassists.
This 150-watt unit features a 12 inch speaker housed within a tuned and ported enclosure, specifically engineered to maintain performance standards in various environments.
A defining characteristic of the series is the inclusion of Peavey's DDT speaker protection and exclusive tone enhancements, which are integrated to ensure the hardware remains reliable under standard use.
A notable technical feature of this model is the psycho-acoustic low-end enhancement. This technology adds perceived bass response without increasing the physical demand on the speaker.
The internal circuitry also includes patented TransTube tube emulation within the gain boost section, designed to replicate specific harmonic characteristics. For tonal adjustments, the interface provides a three-band EQ alongside switchable presets for Contour, Mid-Shift, and Bright settings.
The physical construction of the cabinet utilises an angled baffle design. This configuration directs the sound upwards toward the player to improve monitoring and high-frequency dispersion without the need to tilt the entire amplifier.
For connectivity and practice, the unit is fitted with a balanced XLR direct output with a ground lift for signal routing to external desks, as well as one eighth inch connections for headphones and auxiliary input sources. A built-in chromatic tuner with a mute function is also included on the top panel.
