The Solid Gold FX Ether is a modulated reverberator, designed to deliver vast ambient sounds and shimmering soundscapes!
At the heart of the Ether pedal is a full bodied ambient reverb. The top row of controls gives you access to Decay, Color and Level. The Decay knob will take you from small, confined spaces up to infinite spaces, whilst the Color control will take the sound from snappy zing down to tonal darkness. The Level knob gives you level control of the sound, plus with its extended range it can let the reverb signal overtake the dry signal for extra colourful effects. The selectable Shimmer switch delivers a slightly more twisted take on the standard shimmer sounds - allowing for more dissonant haziness!
What comes next is what sets the Ether apart from just another reverb effect. Solid Gold FX have equipped the Ether with 3 different modulation types (accessible via the Mod/Shimmer toggle); Vibrato, Tremolo and Harmonic-Tremolo., each with tap tempo control via the footswitch. The Vibrato setting will add a washed out chorus flavour to your sound, whilst the Tremolo will chop things up, either subtly or with a more percussive effect. Finally, select the Harmonic-Tremolo and you'll get a unique Push/Pull effect that tilts between highs and lows all with a satisfying sweep. The Depth and Speed knobs control the selected modulated settings.
Added versatility comes with the two footswitches. The Tap switch allows is for Tap Tempo, and when tapped turns off the modulated effect. The Bypass switch does as expected when tapped but when held delivers infinite tail...and finally, hold both switches for ramp mode!
If you want a reverb that'll take your sound to new places and truly inspire, then check out the Solid Gold FX Ether Modulated Reverberator!
