This is the latest incarnation of the classic Martin 000-18 acoustic guitar. Redesigned, it offers many features that were found in Martin's pre-war era guitars.
A prime piece within Martin's Standard Series range, the 000-18 is a vintage inspired delight. It features a solid sitka spruce top, that has been treated to a beautiful aged toner, and married to genuine mahogany back and sides, making for that classic spruce and mahogany tonal pairing. The updated Sitka spruce Golden Era (GE) top bracing, offers a more vintage, breathy tone with enhanced sustain.
The body is married to a select hardwood neck with GE modified low oval neck profile which maintains its popular shape but is optimised for vintage appeal with minimal increase in total mass. The neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard which host abalone dot inlays.
Playability enhancements include a thinner fingerboard with a gently bevelled comfort edge and refined string spacing at the nut, while the new GE modern belly bridge features smoother, more comfortable corners.
Other appointments includes nickel open-geared butterbean knobs and a rosewood headplate with the large old style Martin logo. The guitar comes complete with Martin hard case.
