The Epiphone Thunderbird 60s Bass is part of the current range of Epiphone guitars paying homage to classic Gibson guitars and basses.
There are a few legendary bass guitar shapes that are instantly recognisable, and one that is part of that gang is Thunderbird, With its offset body design, 4 in-line headstock and pair of punchy humbuckers, its striking looks are matched with a powerful range of sound.
The Epiphone Thunderbird 60s bass features a mahogany winged body that is married to a 7-ply (mahogany/walnut) thru-neck giving the bass a distinctive look whilst also aiding in the Thunderbird's resonant sound and excellent sustain. The neck has a 60s rounded profile and is topped with a fingerboard set with dot inlays and 20 medium frets. Topping the neck is a headstock as distinctive as the body shape with its 4 in-line tuners.
Powering the bass is a pair of Epiphone ProBucker Bass pickups wired through individual volume controls for each pickup, a master tone control, and a 3-way pickup selector switch.
Completing the bass and helping to deliver rock solid tuning is a a vintage styled 60s Thunderbird Tune-O-Matic bridge and 60s era Claw tailpiece.
