This is the latest incarnation of the Epiphone ES-335 semi-hollow electric guitar - taken from the Inspired by Gibson collection. It delivers classic looks, legendary tone, and a price point that gives all players access to an iconic Gibson model.
The Gibson ES335 was first launched way back in 1958, and over the years it has been used by many guitar legends including BB King, Eric Clapton, Larry Carlton, and Chuck Berry to name but a few.
This Epiphone iteration takes direct inspiration from its current Gibson counterpart, with its layered maple body hosting a solid centre block, allowing for reduced feedback and increased sustain compared to a fully hollow body. The body is features 2 f-holes and single ply binding on the top and back, completing its iconic look.
Paired to the body via a glued set neck joint is a mahogany neck with a comfortable rounded C neck profile. The neck is complete with a laurel fingerboard (12" radius) which hosts classic dot inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets.
Epiphone have fitted the ES-335 with a pair of alnico Classic Pro humbuckers which have been wired in the traditional manner, via a 3-way pickup toggle switch with volume and tone controls (with CTS pots) for each pickup. Tonally you get access to all those legendary 335 sounds, be it warm cleans, bluesy crunch or heavier rock tones.
Other features includes a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone Stopbar tailpiece, a 335 style 5-ply pickguard, and Epiphone deluxe tuners
