The Gibson Les Paul Classic delivers the best of both worlds by combining early 60’s styling and form with a selection of modern appointments to deliver great take on the classic guitar.
At its core, the Les Paul Classic stays true to its roots, with the classic tonewood pairing of a mahogany body with a maple top. Gibson have treated the body to their 9-hole weight relief design which will appeal to players who want the looks and tone of a Les Paul without the weight which some may struggle with on those long gigs!
The body is married to a solid mahogany neck, which has been shaped into the SlimTaper 60s profile and is topped with a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard. The 24.75" scale, trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets and 1.695" (43.05mm) nut width complete the traditional feel and look.
Want a Les Paul with more tonal versatility?...well, you have come to the right place as the Les Paul Classic has plenty to offer! It comes loaded with open-coil zebra Burstbucker 61R and Burstbucker 61T humbuckers, designed to deliver classic Gibson tones with added punch. In addition, the control assembly features 4 push-pull pots giving you access to coil-tapping, phase switching and pure bypassing. The range of tones on offer is wide, making for a Les Paul with tones to suit any genre.
Other appointments include the classic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic "Kidney" tuners and aged gold top hat knobs with silver reflectors.

The guitar arrived within 48 hours of order. The setup was great, perhaps a little work on the nut at string change but no rush, it holds tune very well. Its a Gibson so even though they are expensive the finish is not perfect, this one had a little lump on the neck binding at the nut and some staining missed in the cutaway. if you look hard enough the scraping round the body aint perfect either. Cesar you still need to up the game. For me these are superficial but thats not the point, people save up for these things and my Epiphone 59 LP finish is better. That all said, what a lovely playing experience, the hardware, switches and electronics all work as they should. The tone options are fantastic. I love the neck profile it suits me very well. The weight relief is welcome, theres no neck dive, it’ s ace and I wont be parting with it , it’s home.
