The Gordon Smith GS1000 Special Edition, here in Vintage White finish, is a premium electric guitar that features a host of premium appointments whilst still maintaining an affordable price tag...it's also handbuilt in the UK.
This Special Edition model delivers a modern take on a classic Gordon Smith design. The double cutaway body is made from a single piece of Brazilian Cedar that is treated to a gloss top and satin back and sides. The cream body binding accentuates the shape whilst adding a cosmetic charm.
The set neck is also constructed from Brazilian Cedar and is topped with a Rosewood fingerboard. With its comfortable neck profile and 24.625" scale length, the GS1000 feels great in the hand and allows for a great playing instrument. A brass nut also features.
The 'homewound' GS humbucker is wired through a volume and tone control, making for a simple yet surprisingly versatile instrument thanks to the coil split option (via a push/pull pot), giving you access to punchy humbucker and single coil tones. Other appointments include the GOTOH 510 bridge, 18:1 tuners and included hard case.
With a history that dates back to 1974, Gordon Smith know a few things about making guitars and with this GS1000 Special Edition model you can see that in abundance. It's a superbly built instrument, full of unique character, standout looks and great tone!
