Perfect for the modern shredder, the Schecter Sun Valley SS-FR III takes a traditional design and fires it up with powerful pickups, a double-locking trem system and a stunning finish- ideal for the modern metaller looking for brutal power with a vintage flavour and endless playability.
The Sun Valley features a quilted-maple capped, mahogany body coupled with a maple neck delivering plenty of low end clout with a bright, crisp edge. The Thin-C profile neck features a maple fretboard containing 24 X-Jumbo frets and has a 14" radius - perfect for big vibrato and even bigger string bends.
The bridge is a Floyd Rose 1500 Series locking tremolo. This, in conjunction with the Floyd Rose 1500 Series locking nut and a set of Schecter sealed tuners, keeps tuning rock solid for even the most aggressive dive bombs.
Giving the Sun Valley its immense power is an EMG Retro Active humbucker in the bridge position. This active pickup delivers huge power whilst retaining classic dynamics. Paired with the humbucker come a pair on EMG Retro Active Single Coils in the mid and neck positions. Together these pickups deliver classic 1980s tones, but with a bit of extra fire power for the modern player.
