Personalised multi-point setup included

Before dispatch, your instrument will be treated to a full setup. That's not a quick tweak, but a full multi-point setup by an experienced guitar technician who will check and adjust every single thing on your guitar, bass, ukulele or banjo to ensure it is performing at its absolute best.

This is not a quick process but we believe every instrument should go through our process to acheive an exacting standard of playability.

Frets

We start with the frets on your instrument. All guitar necks move and change over time so we will make sure that your frets are nice and flat as we go up the neck. We don't want any high or low spots as this will mean your guitar will need a higher than optimum action and potentially suffer with fret buzz.

We check and properly profile the playing surface of the frets and then make sure the fret ends are finished off properly. The fret is then polished to ensure smooth string bending.

Truss Rod

Then it's on to the truss rod. This metal rod differs from guitar to guitar (some guitars such as classical guitars don't usually have a truss rod!) and basically controls the "relief" or curve of the neck. Not enough relief and your strings won't have enough clearance over the other frets when playing. Too much relief and you'll have a high action which gets worse as you go up the neck.

The heavier the strings then the more the truss rod needs to work. Proper adjustment in the workshop means that the action will be just right for the strings fitted to your guitar.

Top Nut

The top nut is super important and is one of the two open contact points of your guitar. The technician will check and cut each slot to make sure the strings both run freely but are not sitting in a slot that's too big.

The top nut also plays a big part in the action of your guitar so we'll hit that sweet spot between too low and too high.

Saddle(s)

Another really important part of your guitar!

On an acoustic, the saddle is cut to the correct height making sure the bottom is 100% flat and straight. This means the string can transfer its vibration properly into the body of your guitar.

For electric guitars, the saddles are adjusted to ensure your intonation is perfect. We will also match the saddles to the radius of your fretboard.

Bridge / Tremolo

The bridge affects the break angle and string height of your guitar and is also responsible for holding your saddles.

For a guitar with a Floyd Rose tremolo system or similar, the spring tension has to be just right to allow the tremolo to return to its "zero point" and keep everything in tune.

For guitars with standard tremolos, we can set it to float and be used both up or down like a true tremolo or we can lock the trem block back so the tremolo will only go downwards.... the choice is yours!

Intonation

Intonation is the measure of how in-tune the guitar string is across the length of the fretboard and a guitar with badly set intonation will get more and more out of tune as the string is shortened when you play.

Tiny adjustments are made to each string where applicable to adjust its length and ensure that the intonation is set just right.

Overall Action

Once all the above has been completed, the guitar is checked for playability and fine adjustments are made. This step brings everything together and means your guitar will be set up optimally.

Machine Heads

Every machine head is operated and checked for function. We need to ensure that the machine heads operate smoothly.

Electrics

All the functions of your guitar are checked to ensure everything is working as intended.

For acoustic guitars we will check the functions of the EQ system and controls as well as check the internal cabling and jack socket.

For electric guitars, all the pickups are checked for function and tonal response. All controls and switches are operated to ensure they are functioning properly. The jack socket is checked.

Other Parts

All other parts such as strap pins, bushings, tuning buttons etc are fully checked.

Dispatch

All our instruments get the same premium treatment whether you purchase online or instore.

If you have purchased online, your guitar will be carefully packed ready for dispatch. You will receive a tracking link via email.

Happy playing :)

Description

The Laney Audiohub AH400 provides high-headroom, full-range amplification for performers running multiple instruments or complex keyboard rigs.

Pushing 400W peak (200W RMS) through a 15-inch custom HH Blue woofer and a 1-inch horn-loaded compression driver, it delivers the low-end authority and clean dynamic range needed for stage pianos, synthesizers, electronic percussion, and vocals in live venues and rehearsal spaces.

Built as a true self-contained stage hub, the AH400 combines multi-channel mixing, onboard digital signal processing, and flexible routing in a kickback-style cabinet. It lets duos, keyboardists, and multi-instrumentalists manage their entire setup without hauling separate mixers or small PA systems.

Five Independent Channels for Multi-Instrument Mixing

The front panel functions as a comprehensive mixer tailored to varied stage inputs. Channels 1 and 2 feature balanced XLR microphone connections alongside 6.3mm instrument jacks, accommodating dynamic mics, active acoustic pickups, or secondary line sources. Channels 3 and 4 provide paired 6.3mm stereo inputs dedicated to synthesisers, electronic drum kits, and stereo keyboard modules. Channel 5 offers an auxiliary 3.5mm stereo mini-jack input for external media players. Each channel features individual level control and effects send knobs, making it straightforward to balance independent volume levels and effects depth across multiple instruments.

Full-Range Audio with 15-Inch Custom HH Speaker and Horn

Unlike standard guitar amplifiers with narrow frequency bandwidths, the AH400 reproduces the complete sonic spectrum from deep 35Hz sub-bass up to crisp 20kHz treble. The custom-designed 15-inch HH Blue woofer easily handles the demanding fundamentals of 88-key stage pianos, synth basses, and kick drums without distortion or cone breakup. Paired with a 1-inch horn-loaded compression driver, high-frequency transients and vocal sibilance stay articulate and intelligible even at higher stage volumes.

Studio-Grade Digital Effects and 5-Band Master Graphic EQ

An integrated 16-preset digital effects processor delivers a practical suite of studio-quality algorithms, including halls, rooms, plates, delays, and modulation combinations. A master FX parameter knob allows immediate adjustment of decay times, delay intervals, or modulation speed to fit the acoustics of the venue. To shape the overall mix and combat stage feedback, the master output section features a 5-band graphic equaliser with backlit sliders operating at 80Hz, 250Hz, 600Hz, 1.6kHz, and 6.3kHz.

Modern Bluetooth Audio Streaming and USB-C Recording

Wireless backing tracks, break music, and practice audio stream easily to the amplifier via Bluetooth V5.4, supporting True Wireless Stereo (TWS) pairing with a second compatible unit for wider stereo projection. For digital tracking and live streaming, the built-in USB-C audio interface connects directly to computers or mobile devices, facilitating clean direct recording and low-latency digital playback without needing external audio converters.

Flexible Stage Routing, Silent Cooling, and Dual-Position Cabinet

A balanced XLR line output with ground-lift switching allows direct connection to front-of-house mixing desks or audio recording consoles, while a dedicated 3.5mm stereo headphone output allows silent monitoring. The onboard effects loop provides dedicated send and return jacks for routing external rack processors or pedalboards into the master mix, with remote effects bypass supported via an optional FS1 footswitch. The high-efficiency Class D power section is convection cooled, eliminating fan noise during quiet studio sessions, musical theatre, and intimate acoustic sets.

Constructed from rugged 12/15mm plywood with steel protective corners, a steel front grille, and heavy-duty bar handles, the AH400 can be set upright as a standard projection combo or leaned back in kickback monitor format to aim sound directly at your ears.
