The Gold Tone 17-Fret Irish Tenor Banjo features a short scale neck and heavier strings, providing a plunky tone that works amazingly with the bodhran, fiddles and pipes found in Celtic music ensembles.
Body & Tonewood
This Irish Tenor Banjo features an open back, making it an ideal choice for intimate gigs and quiet home practice. The open-back also makes it lighter and more comfortable to play, which is great for beginners and travelling to and from lessons or practice rooms.
As for the tonewood, this banjo is built primarily from maple - specifically for the 1/2" rim, neck and bridge. Maple is known for a punchy, crisp and responsive tone, ideal for folk styles. The maple enhances higher frequencies despite the quieter sound of the open-back design.
Other features include an ebony fingerboard with cloud inlays, bone nut, two-way adjustable truss rod, and Master Planets tuners.
