Electro Harmonix Cock Fight - Cocked Talking Wah
When EHX dreamt up the super innovative Electro-Harmonix Cock Fight Cocked Talking Wah their goal was to enable the user to approximate the cocked Wah tones used by the likes of Mick Ronson and Mark Knopler of Dire Straits without having to physically find that perfect spot on a Wah pedal. The EHX Gurus certainly succeeded in their goal, but this description only scratches the surface of the features and tonal possibilities the Cock Fight has to offer.
Your probably wondering how the Cock Fight achieves the highly sort after half cocked Wah tone. This is through its two clever expressive filters with tunable frequencies that controlled the dry signal entering the pedal.
The EHX Cock Fight has two main modes called "Talk" and "Cry", Both of which are controlled by a single small switch. Talk produces and controls a distinctively vowel like element much like the famous Talk Box. The second area of the switch named the Cry mode simple ensures your circuit emulates a traditional Wah tone.
Volume and output of the box is controlled by the volume knob while another knob labelled "Freq" for frequency actually allows you to control the sweep of the effect when used with an expression pedal hooked up to the EXP input slot.
Lets not forget that the Cock fight also comes equipped with its very own fuzz, giving you the choice to drive the signal either pre, post-filter or remove it all together. The fuzz perks don't end here either, with the tone knob performing the function of adjustment between darker or brighter fuzzes along with the bonus of a bias switch for those of you looking for a spluttering dying battery sound.
- Great cocked wah and talking pedal sounds
- Like getting three pedals in one: crying wah + talking wah plus a classic fuzz
- Use with or without the fuzz. Place the fuzz before the filter for a vintage vibe or after for a more modern sound
- Adjustable bias control takes the fuzz from “normal” to a classic “dying battery” sound
- EXP input so you can sweep the wah and talking pedal with an expression pedal
- Includes an EHX 9.6DC-200 PSU, also works with 9V battery
