I came across this guitar when watching a video review for a different product online. I was hooked instantly and, even though I had no intentions of looking for yet another guitar for my collection, I had to hold this for myself. I first saw the Gretsch 12-string when I was a young teen nigh-on sixty years ago but, at that time, the price was out of the question. Now though, as times have changed, I could afford this new model with ease. When I opened the box I was delighted. The barell burst colour is even better than expected, the finish is exceptional, the gold hardware matches the colouring perfectly. The neck design is perfection, making this 12-string one of the easiest I have played (and I mostly use 12-string acoustics), the intonation seems perfect and the action is exceptionally low but still allowing every fret to play cleanly. Weight - far heavier than it looks, coming in at around 11 lbs, so you know you have a "real" guitar when you hold this. Sound quality - just what I would expect from a quality guitar and easy to move from the anticipated jangly treble to a smoother humbucker, with all tones in between. I can't fault it, even the strings are exactly right for this guitar. If I could have owned a Gretsch 12-string when I was a teen, I would never have wanted another guitar, which is high praise from me. Definitely an instrument to keep and treasure.
