Description

One of the few true icons of the guitar world, the Gibson ES-335 Dot has become one of the most recognisable and most sought after instruments of all time.

Introduced in 1958, the ES-335 was the world’s first semi-hollow electric guitar. It offers a wide variety of classic tones making it popular with guitarists playing virtually all styles of music. Whether its jazzy clean tones, crunchy blues sounds or powerful heavy rock that is required, the ES-335 will deliver, making it one of the most important guitars ever made.

This latest incarnation is constructed using Gibson’s tried-and-tested laminated Maple/Poplar/Maple body with spruce bracing, in addition, the ES-335 features a solid Maple centre block running the length of the body. This allows the guitar to be played at higher volumes, cutting down feedback and delivering powerful, sustain-rich tone. The hollow wings add warmth to this tone delivering an extensive range of possible sounds.

The neck is built from one piece of quarter-sawn mahogany, shaped into a comfortable Rounded "C" profile and is topped off with a bound (rounded) rosewood fretboard containing 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays.

Hardware is all nickel. The combination of an ABR-1 bridge and stopbar tailpiece coupled with Grover 'Milk Bottle' Rotomatics tuners helps keep tuning stability rock solid.

Pickups are Gibson’s new MHS humbuckers - the MHS stands for "Memphis Historic Spec". Tonally, these pickups, as the name implies, gives you access to classic PAF humbucker sounds, with the addition of improved clarity and midrange. The pickups are hand wired through the usual 3 way selector switch, two volume and two tone controls, 500K potentiometers and orange drop capacitors

To complete the package, all Gibson ES-335s come complete with a black Gibson hard case.
