The Ibanez RGRTBB21 RG Iron Label Baritone is a purpose-built electric guitar, designed for players who want to explore the depths of lower tunings without sacrificing any clarity or playability.
Body, Neck & Fretboard
The defining characteristic of the Ibanez RGRTBB21 is its neck-through construction.
By running the 5-piece Maple and Walnut Wizard III Baritone neck through the entire length of the instrument, Ibanez has maximised sustain and created a seamless heel for effortless access to the upper frets.
This is flanked an Okoume "wing" body, which provides a bright, punchy resonance that helps the lower baritone frequencies remain defined rather than getting lost in the mix.
The Ebony fretboard and 24 jumbo frets offer a slick, fast response.
Design & Hardware
Matched with a 28-inch scale length and factory-tuned to B-standard, this guitar maintains proper string tension for heavy riffing.
Luminescent side dots ensure you never lose your place on stage, and to keep everything locked down, Ibanez has utilised the Mono-rail bridge.
The mono-rail bridge isolates each string to prevent "cross-talk" and interference, alongside Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads for rapid string changes and rock-solid tuning stability.
Pickups & Controls
To handle the extra-low frequencies, this baritone is loaded with DiMarzio D Activator pickups.
These are specifically tuned to offer a tight low-end response and a wealth of harmonic overtones, ensuring that even the heaviest chords sound open and articulate.
