Working alongside famed folk performer Marcy Marxer, Gold Tone have resurrected an early-twentieth century favourite with their CEB-4 Marcy Marxer Signature 4-String Cello Banjo.
This instrument offers modern players a new, deeper, lower sound, making it an excellent second instrument for any folk enthusiast.
Body, Tonewood & Build
This cello banjo features a shorter scale for more intricate playing, as well as high-tension nylon strings for comfortability and a more dynamic tone when playing. Tuned in fifths, it suits both lead and accompaniment playing.
With a majority maple build, including a 14" multi-ply maple rim and maple bridge with ebony cap, you can expect considerable volume and punchiness from this banjo, despite it's open back design.
Other build features include guitar style tuners, an ebony fingerboard with Weymann Vintage inlays, two-way adjustable truss rod, 14" rolled brass flat bar, and 14" notched tension hoop.
