The Taylor GTe Blacktop Grand Theatre electro acoustic features a new body shape and targets a new category in acoustic guitar size, sound and feel thanks to its compact, scaled down dimensions.
Designed by Taylor master designer Andy Powers, the Taylor GTe introduces the Grand Theatre body shape (the "e" stands for appointment of electronics), sits between Taylor's compact GS Mini body size and Taylor's Grand Concert size (which is the smallest full size body Taylor make). The body is paired with a shorter 24-1/8" scale length, which is the equivalent of playing with a capo at the first fret of a full 25-1/2" scale guitar. Combined, the compact body and shorter scale make for a fun playable acoustic guitar with a full voice and wonderfully rich tone.
Taylor have opted to use matte finished solid walnut for the back and sides of the Taylor GTe Blacktop models, and paired it with a black finished solid spruce top. This combination allows fir a dynamic and expressive tone with good amount of midrange warmth.
Andy Powers has voiced the GTe with the new C Class bracing design, borrowing from some V Class design, it deliver superb sustain, stability and volume, whilst increasing bass response, allowing the GTe to deliver lows that far exceed it's small bodied size.
The Expressions 2 System onboard electronics, you have instant access to superb amplified tones, perfect for stage and studio. Controls couldn't be simple with Volume, Bass and Treble.
Other features include Taylor nickel mini tuners, a black pickguard, and a 3-ring rosette.
